Donald Trump, the current U.S. President and still a strong political figure, represents a harsh and backwards idea of America. Through his extreme opinions, dividing speeches, and political actions, he promotes a kind of nationalism that forgets about equality, justice, and unity, the values America claims to stand for.

Under Trump, America stopped hiding its imperial face. It became like a closed white fortress, ignoring the pain of the world, only caring about its own comfort, and showing open disrespect to poor nations that have already suffered from colonization and exploitation. Trump didn’t create this attitude, but he shows it with cold pride.

The biggest irony: the America he defends so hard was built by immigrants and mixed cultures, Italians, Irish, Polish, Africans, Asians, Hispanics. These people built the country. But now, the descendants of slave owners and racists want to close the door behind them, forget the shared history, and treat immigrants and minorities like criminals.

This identity-based politics is also strong in American systems. The police and courts claim to be fair but often act unfairly. Black people (about 48 million or 14% of the U.S. population) make up almost 37% of the prison population. In many states, Black and Hispanic people make up to 80% of all prisoners. These numbers are not random, they show a biased system that keeps minorities in a weak position.

When a young Black man is arrested, he’s quickly called a criminal. But when a White young man kills people in a school, they say he had mental issues. This unfair treatment creates anger and feelings of injustice. By turning minority hopes into prison numbers, the people in power keep control.

Trump has made this worse, not better. Internationally, he cuts help to poor countries, reduces humanitarian aid, leaves important global agreements, and even insults entire nations, calling African countries « shitholes. » These are not small actions, they show open disrespect for struggling people and a refusal to admit that today’s inequality is linked to past injustice.

But why would a billionaire, born rich and protected by a system made for him, fear the poor of the world? Why attack the people who have nothing, except hope and the wish for dignity? Maybe it’s just about keeping power and pretending it’s a natural right.

If America still wants to lead the world morally, it must prove that greatness is not about weapons or walls, but about recognizing past mistakes, fixing injustices, and giving everyone a fair chance to succeed. True power comes from respecting human dignity for all, no matter the color, background, or religion.

Today, under Trump, America’s biggest challenge is not just money or politics. It is a moral challenge. The country must reconnect with its promises. That means deep changes in the system, a strong political will, and finally giving a true place to people, Black, Hispanic, Native American, who have been ignored for so long.

If not, America will remain stuck in its own contradictions: a land of opportunity for a few, and a nightmare for many others.

Just saying!
